Curriculum Overview for Year 4
This half term in RE we are learning about the
Jesus the Saviour
We will learn that Jesus is truly God and truly human and learn that Jesus came to share our life so that we can share his life. We will learn that when Jesus died on the cross he took away our sins, and learn what happened in Holy week.
At Home:
You could help your children by:
- reading the stories of Jesus’ last week with them
- visiting church during Holy Week

Year 4 go swimming every Thursday. Children need a swimming costume/trunks (not baggy shorts) and a towel. They can bring goggles
PE is on a TUESDAY. Children will come to school in their PE kit.

Over the last 2 weeks we have been writing instructions for how to look after a mythical creature using time connectives (i.e., next, after) and imperative verbs (i.e., get, go, chop). I would like you to write instructions for something you do at home. Remember to use some expanded noun phrases, imperative verbs and time connectives
For a challenge try to include a relative clause (using which or who) and some fronted adverbials

As you are aware in June your child will have a times table test. This will be carried out on a tablet.

Reading
When your child has finished their reading book, please remind them to place it in the 'books to be changed' box in class.
Every Wednesday your child can change their library book. Please encourage them to look after the books they bring home and return them to school as soon as they have finished reading them.
